Don’t need God

Usually when we think we don’t need God it is when everything in life is going great in life.  But what about when we experience that crisis in our life.  That’s when we realize we can’t do life on our own.  Let some of these verses soak in and consider how much we all need God!

“What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?  Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”  Mark 8:3629

Think you don

Think you don’t need God?

“If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. ” I John 1:8

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”  Romans 3:10-12

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2:10-11

“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.  For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”  Matthew 12:36-37

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”  Matthew 25:46

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”  Matthew 7:21

Sound familiar?  Still think you don’t need God?

Hopefully by now you’re thinking to yourself…I need God!  But if not, we’re still not done.

“But mark this:  There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God– having a form of godliness but denying its power.  Have nothing to do with them.”  2 Timothy 3:1-5

“But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.  God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”  To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.  But for those you are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.”  Romans 2:5-8

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”  Romans 3:23-24

For God so loved the world!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ” John 3:16-17

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

“For the wages of sin is death, but the  gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Believe in Jesus!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”  I John 1:9

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them”.  John 3:36

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”  Mark 16:16

“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.  But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.”  Matthew 10:32-33

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”  Romans 10:9-10

Our prayer is that this would be your prayer today.  Make these words yours by praying.

Jesus, how I have sinned to think that I didn’t need you.  I’m coming to you now asking you to forgive me.  I truly believe in my heart that you paid the price for my sins by dying on the cross.  I believe that you were raised from the dead to give me new life even though I don’t deserve it.  I trust in you and that only you can save me from all the junk and failure in my life to give me a new life with you.  I thank you that you never gave up on me.  In Jesus’ perfect name.  Amen

Angels Rejoicing!!!
