Prayer

Prayer - The Lord's PrayerWhen was the last time you said a prayer?  Not sure where to start.  Jesus gives us the perfect example below known as the Lord’s prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”  Matthew 6:9b-13

Prayer when you’re in trouble

The Bible also tells us if we’re in trouble we should pray.  Don’t really have a relationship with God?  If you haven’t invited Jesus into your heart and life yet, then the best starting place is our Find God section.  Let us walk you through a believer’s prayer to Find God in your life.  It’s finding God made easy!

“Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.:  James 5:13a

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”  James 5:16b

“You do not have because you do not ask God.  When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”  James 4:2b-3

“And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask of him.”  Matthew 6:7-8

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”  John 14:13-14

“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”  Luke 5:16

Why Prayer?

Why do we pray?  Deep down we long for a relationship with Jesus and when we pray we feel a closeness to him.  We pray for wisdom in decisions and also for strength to get us through life challenges.  See what the Bible tells us about Strength.
