Sin Separates us from God

Sin separates us from God but acknowledging your sins will restore your relationship with God.


“Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.”  Psalm 51:5


Slave to Sin!

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.  So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”  John 8:34, 36


“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”  Isaiah 59:2


“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2


“And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.”  Mark 10:42


“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men.”  Romans 1:18a


“But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.  Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”  Colossians 3:8-11

“But mark this:  There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God–having a form of godliness but denying its power.”  2 Timothy 3:1-5a


“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”  2 Corinthians 5:10


“I do not understand what I do.  For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.  As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.”  Romans 7:15, 17


“I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.  For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.  For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do – this I keep on doing.  Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.”  Romans 7:18-20


“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  Lamentations 3:22
